After meeting Chris Faraone in a stuffy Emerson college workshop room, I noticed how the witty staff writer for Boston’s alternative newsweekly—The Phoenix, referenced the underground hip-hop scene a lot. I made it my mission to scrounge the pages for artist names whose vulnerable, titillating beats were floating around google waiting to be found and put on blast.
